HYDERABAD, Aug 28: The members of Sand community of Matiari on Tuesday demanded legal action against Pir Sarhandis who they accused of being involved in several crimes.
Speaking at a news conference at the press club, Abdul Razzaq Sand, Raja Sand and Aijaz Sand, alleged that Sarhandis masterminded the murder of their close relative, Abdul Sattar Sand, son of Gul Hassan Sand, in 2001 in Matiari. He was killed while resisting an attempt to kidnap him, they said, adding, that since then the Sands were receiving death threats.
Mr Razzaq said that despite registration of these cases police had so far taken no action against the Sarhandis.
