HYDERABAD, Aug 28: The Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) on Tuesday warned the residents of more than 20 plazas of disconnecting water supply without any prior notice if they failed to clear dues within three days.
A spokesman for Wasa said that water supply to ABL, GOR Colony and HDA flats had already been disconnected after they failed to pay up millions of rupees dues.
Water supply had also been disconnected to Bismillah Square and Siddique Plaza and 48-hour notice had been issued to Jamia Cloth market, Anarkali Centre and Sakhi Wahab Complex asking them to pay their dues, he said.
The plazas include; Naseem Apartments, Naseem Deluxe, Zeeshan Plaza, Abdullah Centre, Abdullah Housing, Abdullah Town, Agriculture Complex, Faraz Villas, Abdullah Avenue, French Gulistan-i-Sajjad, Bhurgri Square, Madina Apartments, City Centre, Bilal Complex, Karim Food Centre, Glamour Centre, Memon Plaza and Centre, Hur Camp Colony and Gharibabad Colony.
DEMO: Activists of Pakistan People’s Party-Shaheed Bhutto on Tuesday staged a demonstration against the alleged murder of Ghulam Nabi Channa by a policeman.
Party leaders alleged that Ghulam Nabi was killed in a fake robbery case and demanded inquiry into the incident.
According to some reports, Ghulam Nabi was killed when a policeman firen on him as he and his accomplices tried to rob the personnel of IBL Distribution Company in Latifabad Unit No. 7 on Monday.
ARRESTED: Police have claimed to arrest two robbers and recovered illegal arms from their possession while three of their accomplices managed to escape from a check-post near on Monday.
The police said that five suspected robbers were going in an Umerkot-bound coach. Police stopped the vehicle for routine checking. They claimed to found five suspected persons who were travelling as passengers with intention to commit robbery.
