PESHAWAR, Aug 27: The NWFP chapter of the Pakistan Flour Mills Association has called for equal distribution of wheat quotas between the provinces. A statement issued on Monday by Mohammad Naeem Butt, provincial chairman of the association, said that uneven distribution of wheat was reinforcing other provinces’ monopoly in the Frontier province, besides causing a disparity in prices.

He urged the provincial government to provide wheat in sufficient quantities to flour mills so that they could at least operate for eight hours a day. Praising the government’s decision to release wheat stock by next month, Mr Butt said the move would help lower flour prices, especially ahead of Ramazan.
