Aisam retires due to injury

LAHORE, Aug 25: Pakistan’s Aisam-ul-Haq has missed a chance to qualify for the US Open singles due to injury problems.

Aisam was forced to exit from the US Open when he retired hurt while playing against American Scoville Jenkins with the score at 7-6 (7), 2-6. Aisam was suffering from pain in his shoulder, elbow and wrist, which aggravated during the match.

The tennis star had been experiencing this pain since a doubles match last week at the Bronx Tennis Classic, New York, in the tournament that he won with partner Rohan Bopanna.
