GHALANAI, Aug 25: Political authorities in the Mohmand Agency on Saturday arrested 14 people for kidnapping a nephew of a local tribal elder.

The action was taken under the collective responsibility clause of the Frontier Crimes Regulation (FCR).

Akbar Hussain, son of Malik Izat Khan, was kidnapped in Karpa area of the Pendiali tehsil.The administration set up checkpoints on various roads and started checking of vehicles in a bid to find the kidnap victim.

An official said that arrested people included two key suspects.

He said a deadline had been given to the tribe for the recovery of the kidnapped man.
