LAHORE, Aug 20: Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, Pakistan’s No 1 tennis player achieved yet another milestone on Sunday when he claimed his 50th career title at the ATP Bronx Tennis Classic at Crotona Park, New York.

Aisam, pairing with India's top-ranked singles player Rohan Bopanna, defeated the American duo of Alberto Francis and Phillip King in the final 6-3, 2-6, 10-5.

The Asian duo, seeded 4th, had reached the final after defeating the Belgian/American pair Steve Darcis and Jim Thomas 6-4, 6-4 in the semi-final. Darcis and Thomas had ousted the top seed Ashley Fisher and Chris Haggard in the quarter-final.

It is the fourth consecutive doubles title that the Asian pair earned this year. Aisam started his men's open era tennis career in 1999 after finishing junior career as No 11 in the world and No 1 in Asia. In these almost eight years he has won 50 titles - both singles and doubles included - at various venues located in five continents of Asia, Europe, Africa, North America and South America.
