MIRPURKHAS, Aug 18: The DIG of Mirpurkhas, Fayyaz Ahmed Leghari, on Saturday issued show cause-notices to the police officials who had let some accused go without going through prescribed procedure and appointed Supervising Inspector Manthar Bhayo Manthar as inquiry officer to investigate the matter.

Mr Bhayo has initiated inquiry into the release of seven people accused of being involved in Aakra parchi gambling.

Qamar Shaikh, SPO city, and in-charge town investigation police, Arif Bhatti, had a few days ago arrested Mohammed Ali, Shabbir, Jamali alias Shahnawaz, Mohammed Nasir, Noor Nabi, Ashraf and Aqeel Kamali and found photo stat machine, fax machine, computers, Aakra parchi, and cash in their possession.

They filed a case under section 506(ii), 353, 294-B, 420 and 147 against the accused but then let them go on personal surety.
