KARACHI, Aug 13: Allowing the transfer applications of gang-rape cases of two minor girls, Kainat Soomro and Nasima Labano, pending in the sessions court of Dadu and Mirpur Mathelo, the Sindh High Court on Monday ordered the transfer of the cases to the court of District and Sessions Judge of Karachi, South, Zaheeruddin S. Laghari for further proceedings.

Chief Justice Sabihuddin Ahmed was hearing the applications of Ghulam Nabi Soomro, father of Kainat, and Hamza Labano, father of Nasima, for transfer of the cases from the interior of Sindh to the sessions court in Karachi.

They submitted that their daughters and family members were facing death threats by the respondents.

Thirteen-year-old Kainat Soomro was allegedly gang-raped in early January at the Mehar village, Dadu, while 16-year-old Nasima was kidnapped from her home and later gang-raped at a private place in Mirpur Mathelo village.—PPI
