MS, medical officer suspended

MIANWALI, Aug 11: On the orders of a division bench of the Supreme Court, Punjab health secretary Raees Abbas Zaidi on Saturday suspended DHQ hospital MS Dr Muhammad Farooq Khan and medical officer Dr Zafar Iqbal with immediate effect.

He also constituted an inquiry committee, headed by Punjab DG (health) Dr Muhammad Aslam Chaudhry with deputy secretary Dr Naseer Ahmed Raja and cardiologist at Sargodha DHQ hospital Dr Ishtiaq Ahmed as its members. Talking to Dawn, EDO (health) Dr Guftar Ahmed said Dr Mumtaz Elahi Khan, medical superintendent at Pindi Bhattian THQ hospital, was appointed as MS here.— Correspondent
