HARIPUR: Teenager commits suicide

HARIPUR Aug 11: A teen-aged boy reportedly committed suicide here on Saturday. According to the Hattar police and family sources, Saeed, 17, was dejected as he could not continue his studies after matriculation owing to financial constraints.

He had been asking his parents for quite some time to let him go to Lahore to seek a better life. They refused.

On Saturday evening, he locked himself in a room and hanged from the ceiling fan.

On Friday, two suicide cases were reported from different parts of the district.

THEFT: Burglars took away Rs150,000 cash from a shop in the main bazaar here on Friday night.

Alamgir, whose shop of decoration items was in the City Plaza, told the police that he had locked the shop on Friday night properly but on Saturday he found the locks broken and Rs150,000 cash missing.—Correspondent
