HYDERABAD, Aug 11: District Nazim Hyderabad Kanwar Naveed Jamil has directed the district police to prepare a foolproof security plan to ensure safe and secure arrangement of the Independence Day celebration programmes.

He was presiding over a meeting at his office here on Friday to finalise arrangements on August 14, and review security measures during the occasion.

The zila nazim directed the authorities to devise an effective strategy for protection of people’s lives as it was not only the top priority of the government but prime duty of law-enforcing agencies concerned.

He said that all entry and exit points of the district must be put under strict vigilance.

DPO Hyderabad, Imran Shoukat informed the meeting that police force comprising 3,000 personnel would be deployed at different public and private places, buildings and parks to maintain law and order.

He said that an advanced intelligence network has been established with two round the clock operating control rooms to cope with any eventuality or untoward incident. He said that close circuit cameras would also be installed at important places.

Nazim said that district’s main programme of Independence Day would start at Zila Nazim Secretariat at 8:55am by hoisting the national flag and playing national anthem.

While position holders and extraordinary personalities of Hyderabad, who had achieved national awards for their performance in social, cultural, educational and sports fields would also be awarded shields and cash awards by the district government, he added.

He directed all the EDOs, TMOs and management of HDA to chalk out befitting Independence Day celebration programmes and to ensure illumination at their office buildings.

The zila nazim asked the participants to submit details of their scheduled programmes to DPO Hyderabad in advance for security reasons.
