PESHAWAR, Aug 7: Personnel of the district government and city development and municipal department on Tuesday demolished two three-storey buildings to widen the City Circular road.

District Nazim Haji Ghulam Ali and CD&MD officials were present on the occasion.

The buildings, near the Haidary petrol pump, were creating problems in execution of the project.

The district nazim approached owners and entered into an agreement with them for demolition of their houses to widen the road.

He said that under the agreement the affected people had been given land for construction of new houses.

The nazim said widening of the City Circular road was a big project and the problem of traffic congestion would be resolved after its completion.

He thanked the chief minister Akram for taking interest in development and beautification of the district.—APP
