LAYYAH, Aug 5: A youth axed to death his sister and her lover in the name of honour at Chak No 85-TDA here on Sunday and later courted arrest at Karor Lal Esan police station.

On Saturday night, Muhammad Asif, 20, found his 15-year-old sister Jawariya missing. During search, he found Jawariya sitting with her lover Mukhtar Husain, student of a local college and resident of Ward No 4 Karor city, in nearby fields. Asif attacked them with an axe, killing the couple on the spot.

Police have arrested father of the deceased girl and handed over the bodies to the families after autopsy. Earlier, the family of the girl was reluctant to take delivery of the body but received it on the pressure of neighbours.

A few months back, Jawariya’s parents had shifted from Ward No 4 to Chak No 85-TDA owing to the alleged affair. — Correspondent
