HARIPUR, Aug 3: The workers of a fibre factory have taken over control of the factory and suspended its production process here on Friday. They were reportedly agitating against alleged harsh attitude of security personnel and sacking of some of their colleagues.

According to workers’ representatives, the owners had recently changed the entire management of the factory and posted new security personnel. The new management had sacked about 300 workers.

On Thursday the security personnel picked up six workers and threw them out of the gate, said a worker.

The harsh attitude of the security personnel sparked unrest among the workers. They clashed with the personnel and forced them to flee the factory.
