KOLKATA, Aug 3: India and Australia stormed into the Commonwealth Men’s Volleyball Championship final after outplaying their rivals — South Africa and Pakistan respectively — on Friday.

Australia, who thrashed Pakistan 3-0 in the second semi-final, started their campaign with quick attack, cross combinations and powerful spiking, not allowing Pakistan to launch a fight-back.

In the 75-minute match Australia outclassed Pakistan in all departments of the game to take the pre-final 25-16, 25-20 and 26-24.

Earlier on Friday, in the first semi-final, hosts India trounced South Africa 3-0 to book their place in the trophy decider against Australia.

The hosts recorded an easy victory with set scores 25-20, 29-27 and 25-18.
