MULTAN, Aug 2: The Punjab government will establish Gehwara, a centre for newborn babies, in Multan where children will be nourished till the age of seven. Provincial Social Welfare Minister Rai Mansab Ali said this while presiding over a meeting here on Thursday.

The minister warned that an action would be taken against all non-functional NGOs and the people who would cause delay in the registration of projects of citizen community boards.

He said vacant post in the department would be advertised very soon.

Social Welfare district officer Salma Yasmeen Ghori said there were 234 registered NGOs in the district and 517 projects of 129 union councils had been registered.
