LAHORE, July 31: The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) on Tuesday took yet anther twist when it didn’t include undisciplined Mohammad Saqlain, Sohail Abbas, Waseem Ahmad in the list of 30 probables for Asia Cup training camp in Karachi from Aug 19.

A PHF spokesman said that three players were not considered since they had not played at any local tournament to prove their physical fitness.

The players were debarred by the PHF chief Zafarullah Jamali for preferring foreign league over national training camp for Doha Asian Games last year. The PHF took a U-turn, opening the doors for them but on the condition that they will prove their fitness.

“None of the four players have contacted the PHF so far for the fitness test, therefore, they have not been included in the list of probables,” the PHF spokesman said.

The tournament is scheduled to be held in Chennai from Sept 1 to 9.
