LAHORE, July 30: On the night between Aug 14 and 15, a galaxy of Pakistani and India celebrities will land at Wagah-Attari border to celebrate 60 years of independence. Celebrities, including Wasim Akram, Shafqat Amanat Ali Khan, Atif Aslam and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan from Pakistan and Shahrukh Khan, Juhi Chawla, A R Rehman, Sivamani and Kailash Kher from India, will get together as part of Dil se Dil: Independence Day Friendship Celebration.

The main attraction of the celebration will be a live concert wherein musicians and singers will perform from two stages — one in India and one in Pakistan - to be set on either side of the border.

“This two-stage-one-concert represents the younger generation doing exactly what they do best: harnessing technology to overcome distance, physical barriers and outmoded thinking,” a website dedicated to promote the event says.

The event will be televised live by major networks in both countries. It will start at 10:30pm (Pakistan Time) and conclude at 12:00am, “thereby spanning the midnight hour in both” the countries, the website adds.
