HARIPUR, July 29: A woman and her daughter were shot dead in the jurisdiction of the Nara Amazai police on Sunday evening.

Police quoted villager Ayub Khan as saying that his brother Naseer Khan, armed with sophisticated weapon, had barged into his house and opened indiscriminate fire on his family, killing his wife and daughter on the spot.

Villagers said there was a property dispute between the two brothers.

The dead were identified as Fazeelat Jan and her daughter Shaista.
