GILGIT, July 28: Foolproof security arrangements have been made to avert any attack on the Chinese workers at the Naltar hydroelectric project, according to a Northern Areas’ administration official.

He said 126 Chinese experts, working on the Karakoram Highway between Khunjerab to the Raikot Bridge, were still in Sost border town and more labour force was coming this month to initiate work on the KKH.

Only six of them had gone to China on leave and they, too, would be returning soon, he said.

He said strict security measures were meant to deter attacks against Chinese nationals, who had contributed enormously towards the country’s development, adding that their role in the development of Northern Areas could not be understated.
