First woman VC of Sindh

KHAIRPUR, July 27: Professor Dr Neelofar Shaikh has been appointed as the vice-chancellor of the Shah Abdul Latif University (Salu), Khairpur. She will take over charge from July 30.

Dr Neelofar is the first female professor in the history of Sindh who has been appointed vice-chancellor of a university. She has been working as the chairman of the university’s archaeology department.

She was appointed as lecturer in 1978. She did her PhD on Moenjodaro. Dr Neelofar has been a member of the university’s senate and syndicate many times.
