ISLAMABAD, July 27: The president of the Pakistan Muslim League, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, held a meeting with Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz for the fourth consecutive day on Friday to discuss the latest political situation.

At the meeting they reportedly discussed, among other issues, the reported meeting between President Gen Pervez Musharraf and Benazir Bhutto in Abu Dhabi.

Mr Shujaat was accompanied by the party secretary-general, Mushahid Hussain Sayed, and the party’s chief whip, Nasrullah Dareshak, according to sources.

Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and senior Muslim League leaders, according to an official handout, strongly condemned the Islamabad suicide attack, perpetrated by, what they termed, anti-national elements.

Mr Aziz said the local administration and hospital managements had been directed to provide all necessary medical care to the injured.

He told the meeting that law-enforcement agencies had also been directed to be more vigilant to avoid such events in the future.
