RAWALPINDI, July 26: Two women were killed in separate incidents in the city on Thursday, police said. Mehmooda, aged between 60 and 65, was crossing the road in the Westridge police jurisdiction when a Rescue-1122 ambulance hit her.

The injured was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital where she died. The driver escaped from the scene after the accident.

In another incident, Fauzia Bashir was electrocuted in her house at Khayaban-i-Sir Syed. The police said Fauzia was ironing clothes when she suffered an electric shock. She was rushed to the DHQ hospital where she was pronounced dead.—Staff Reporter
