Protest against MQM job quota

KHAIRPUR, July 23: Activists of the Sindh National Party observed token hunger strike at a camp on the Court Road on Monday to protest against the allocation of 50 per cent job quota to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement. Lawyers, social workers and citizens also joined them.

Protesters raised slogans against the Sindh government and the MQM. SNP district president Aijaz Jeevan, lawyer Liaquat Shar and others said that giving job on political basis to the MQM was injustice with hundreds of qualified graduate and postgraduate Sindhi people.

INJURED: Eleven people, including three women were injured in separate incidents in the district on Monday.

Hesco employee Ghulam Hussain Phulpoto along with his family was on way to Sukkur when their car collided with a speedy wagon on the National Highway near Faizabad Colony.

Ghulam Hussain, his wife Zahida, their children Safia, Kainat and Mohammad Yasin were injured. They were taken to the Civil Hospital Khairpur.

In another incident, a cycle and motorcycle collided near Hingorja as a result of which Mohram Ali, Pyaro, Arbab Khatoon, Gul Mohammad and Ms Manzooran were injured and admitted to a local hospital.

ROBBERY: Some unidentified armed men held hostage driver and cleaner of a truck loaded with fertilizers on the National Highway near Hingorja on Sunday night.

Reports said armed men held hostage driver Mohammad Ashraf and cleaner Aziz Ahmed on gunpoint and after robbing cash and mobile phone, snatched the truck and escaped.In another incident, some armed men snatched a tractor from its driver Ali Sher Burdi near Garhai Mori on Sunday.
