PESHAWAR, July 15: Girl students outclassed boys in the secondary school certificate (SSC) annual examination-2007 of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Peshawar.

The girls clinched the top three positions in both science and humanities groups.

A total of 52,385 candidates appeared in the examination of which 28,674 were declared successful. In the science group, Shayan Pervez of Frontier Youth Academy, Hayatabad, and Sana of University Model School, Peshawar, stood first. Both secured 819 marks out of 900.

Aleina Ali Shah of Frontier Youth Academy clinched the second position, while the third position was secured by Humaira Usman of FYA.

In the humanities group, Minah Panizai of Qurtaba Public School for Girls Hayatabad, secured the first position, while Mehwish Mushtaq of University Model School Peshawar stood second. Maryam Ahmad of Municipal Inter College (G) Shahi Bagh, Peshawar, grabbed the third position.
