DERA GHAZI KHAN, July 14: The highwaymen kidnapped a truck driver and injured a trailer driver and his colleague when they did not stop the vehicle on the Indus highway, some 250 kilometre from here on Saturday.

Reports said that armed men opened fire when driver of the Karachi-bound trailer paid no heed to their signal to halt the vehicle. Although driver Abdul Malik managed to drive away his vehicle along with his colleague Younas, both sustained bullet wounds in the process. They were admitted to a Kashmore hospital from where they were shifted to a Rahim Yar Khan hospital for their critical condition.

The highwaymen later succeeded in halting a truck and kidnapped its driver Ghulam Sarwar of Quetta while his brother managed to escape from the scene.

Shah Wali police have registered a case.
