LAHORE, July 13: Lawyers staged a torch-bearing rally on Friday evening to show solidarity with Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry, who is visiting the provincial metropolis on Saturday (today).

The participants, including some civil society members, marched from Awan-i-Adl up to the shrine of Hazrat Ali Hajveri where they offered Dua for the integrity of the country, restoration of the CJP and ouster of President Musharraf. The lawyers were holding a “resistance mushaira” at Awan-i-Adl which was continuing till the filing of this report. —Staff Reporter
