Rs14.97m spent on food support

PESHAWAR, July 13: About Rs14.97 million has been distributed under the food programme of the Pakistan Baitul Maal among deserving people in Karak. An official of the Baitul Maal said that 4,969 people had been paid Rs3,000 each under the food programme during the past fiscal year. For the current year, the amount had been increased to Rs4,500, he said.

He said millions of rupees were being spent on the treatment of poor patients in the district by the Baitul Maal. He said scholarships were also being given to talented needy students by the federal government. —APP
