PESHAWAR, July 13: The lawyers’ community on Friday offered funeral prayers here for all people killed in the military operation at Lal Masjid and Jamia Hafsa and demanded a judicial inquiry into the incident. Advocate Ghulam Nabi Khan led the prayers in the premises of the Peshawar High Court which was attended by a large number of lawyers.

They prayed for eternal peace for the departed souls and destruction for those involved in alleged anti-Muslim activities, including President General Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz.

Following the funeral the participants raised slogans of “Long Live Ghazi Rashid” and against President Musharraf.

The participants demanded an impartial judicial inquiry into the operation and said that hundreds of innocent children and women had been killed and the government was concealing the actual casualties.
