MITHI, July 12: The decision of the Education Department to conduct interviews for post of primary teachers through the IBA Sukkur has been termed unjustified by the aspirant candidates of Thar. They demanded the interviews at taluka or district level.

Mohammad Akram, Arshad, Karim Bux, Allah Bux and Noman, residents of Janjhi village, Chhachhro taluka alleged that though according to prevailing government policy no government department, except the Public Service Commission, was authorised to charge fee from applicants.

However in violation of it, the Education Department of Sindh had reportedly so far charged Rs26.553 million from 126,216 candidates as application fee through demand draft of Rs100 per candidate in the name of Secretary Education Sindh.

Complaining candidates pointed out that each one spent at least Rs1,000 in fare, lodging/boarding at Mithi after making journey from a long distance to get the Rs100 pay order/demand draft made from bank in the name of secretary education.

“Again each candidate spent about Rs500 to Rs1,000 to go to the EDO’s office for receiving his admit card for interview, issued by the IBA after getting their signature”, they disclosed.

They demanded conducting interviews at centres established at taluka or district level.
