ISLAMABAD, July 6: Three armed men deprived a resident of Sector G-6/2 of cash and valuables on Friday when he was returning home after withdrawing cash from a bank during the three-hour let-up in the curfew, which has been imposed in the troubled neighbourhood surrounding the besieged Lal Masjid, sources told Dawn.

The robbers armed with sophisticated weapons entered the curfew area during the relaxation time and kept on the lookout for vulnerable targets.

The unfortunate victim, Abdul Hafiz, was intercepted by the criminals who snatched Rs90,000 in cash and other valuables and escaped from the barricaded area.—Staff Reporter
