An official announcement said the permits were valid only during the office timings i.e. between 7am and 6pm. “The holder of the permit will be authorised under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) to commute in a peaceful and visibly un-hostile manner into and out of the curfew area.”

The permit, however, will not be valid on Masjid Road, Garden Road from the junction at Suharwardy Road to GPO Chowk, Municipal Road from Aabpara Chowk till Melody Chowk (junction at Saddar Road).

The permit will be presumed to be cancelled if intimation to this regard is made through the media or by any officer of the law-enforcement agencies.
