HYDERABAD, July 6: About 113 members of the Pakistan Muslim League (PML) have changed their loyalty by joining the PML-Functional, said a former member of the PML central council Adnan Khan Deswali.

During a briefing at the press club, he said that he along with some other members resigned from the party on June 28 in protest against the wrong policies of provincial leadership adding: “Later on the dissident group held a meeting where it was decided to join the PML-F.”

The PML-F, he said, was the only party to have played a key role in protecting interests, solidarity and integrity of Pakistan due to which the government functionaries always approached Pir Pagaro in crisis.

Adnana Deswali said that the party was well organised and active in Sindh therefore he along with 113 supporters had formally joined the PML-F.

The district president, PML-F, Hyderabad, Choudhry Nizam Arain, and general secretary, Dr Najeeb Memon, welcomed the new entrants from all four talukas of the district into the fold of his party.

They hoped that the new members would strengthen the party and spread message of Pir Saheb Pagara throughout Hyderabad district.

HUNGER STRIKE: Members of the PML dissident group, led by S.M. Ilyas, Mehboob Junejo, Rehmatullah Qureshi, Abdul Qadeer Khanzada, Guddu Qambrani and others, on Friday staged token hunger strike to protest the wrong policies of Political Adviser to Sindh Chief Minister, Senator Ghaffar Qureshi and the PML district leadership.

They expressed confidence in the leadership of provincial president of the party and Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim. They, however, lashed out at Senator Ghaffar Qureshi for undermining the interests of party.

They demanded removal of the district leadership of Mir Sher Mohammad Talpur, Qari Mushtaq Farooqui, Khalid Jafri and others. “According to the directives of Pakistan Election Commission, party elections are required to be held immediately and the present leadership of the district removed,” they stated.
