JACOBABAD, July 5: The K.K. Canal on Thursday developed a 30-foot-wide breach at RD-21 near Kashmore, inundating eight villages and standing crops on hundreds of acres. Reports reaching here said that the canal developed the breach after it started overflowing. The flooded villages included Faryo, Liaquat Mazari, Rind Mazari and Moro Mazari.

The floodwater, besides inundating standing crops on hundreds of acres, washed away cattle heads and household items and sent the villagers running for their lives and the lives of their families.

No irrigation official had reached the spot till the filing of this report.
