HYDERABAD, July 3: Acting president Awami National Party, Sindh Haji Asmatullah Mehsud has condemned operation against Lal Masjid brigade and termed it as a sinister conspiracy against the country.

In a statement issued here on Tuesday, he said the administration of Lal Masjid had formed a parallel government with the connivance of rulers. He said rulers had been waiting for an appropriate moment and today they began operation against male and female students by committing inhuman atrocities.

He urged the MMA government in Balochistan to resign immediately. Mehsud called upon all religious and political parties to unite on one point agenda - to eliminate the role of army from politics.

HUNGER STRIKE: A group of councillors of Qasimabad taluka and members of civil society continued a token hunger strike at Naseem Nagar chowk on third consecutive day on Tuesday. They are protesting against poor allocation of development works for Qasimabad taluka by the Hyderabad district government.

Leaders of different nationalist and political parties visited the camp to support demands of elected representatives of Qasimabad taluka.

Speaking on the occasion, Sindh Taraqqi-Pasand Party acting chairman Dr Abdul Hameed Memon alleged that Qasimabad and Hyderabad Rural talukas were being discriminated against in development schemes.

Qasimabad Taluka Naib Nazim Hyder Shahani said hunger strike will continue till the time Qasimabad and rural talukas were not treated at par in the field of development with Latifabad and City talukas.
