SARGODHA, March 6: A man committed suicide after killing his wife and two children in Chak 130-SB, some 35 kilometres from here, on Tuesday night.

Umar Hayat was a tenant and under heavy debt. His brother-in-law asked him to divorce his wife as he could not meet daily expenses due to financial constraints.

Umar reportedly killed his wife Kaneez, son Muhammad Hayat, 3, and infant girl Nighat Perveen. His neighbours became suspicious when Umar and his family did not come out of their house. They informed the police which broke open the door of his house and found the bodies of the whole family. Umar Hayat was hanging by his neck.

Sillanwali police have registered a case.
