MUZAFFARGARH, July 1: Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has accepted the Muzaffargarh Bar Association’s invitation to address its members during his visit to Dera Ghazi Khan this month.

Muzaffargarh Bar Secretary-General Iftikhar Qureshi said that 27 lawyers, who had reached Multan on foot on May 22 to welcome the chief justice, met him in Islamabad on June 30 and invited him to address the district bar.

He said the chief justice, who had himself invited these lawyers to Islamabad to thank them for their support, promised that he would address the Muzaffargarh bar during his visit to Dera Ghazi Khan most probably in the mid-July.

Among the lawyers who met the chief justice were Muzaffargarh bar president Zubaidul Salam Sherwani, Niaz Rasool Shah, Jam Muhammad Younus, Zafarullah Khan Leghari, Chaudhry Abdul Qayyum, Sheikh Iftikharul Hasan, Rao Abdul Qayyum, Imtiaz Alim Baig, Shair Muhammad Korai, Akram Pittafi, Mian Fiazul Hasan, Hafiz Shakir Husain, Ghulam Mohyyudin, Shahid Adnan, Sajid Hussain Khaira, Jalil Pachar, Javed Iqbal Bhatti, Jam Shoaib and Mian Abdul Ghaffar.
