SAHIWAL, June 28: Additional District and Sessions Judge Mahmood Shakir Jajja has summoned for June 30 (tomorrow) the in-charge doctor of a private clinic, a lady doctor and a dispenser in a rape case.

A resident of Chak 73/D, Pakpattan, had filed a writ petition in the court, saying she along with her 14-year-old daughter visited the Sadiq Healthcare Centre in Fatehsher Colony for treatment six months ago. She alleged that dispenser Akbar took the teenaged girl with him on the pretext that Dr Sadiq Saleem had called her, and raped her. As a result, the girl became pregnant, she added.

The woman said her daughter felt some problem in her stomach on June 20 and they visited the clinic again.

Dr Saleem told her that she had colic and needed to be operated upon. Initially, he demanded Rs40,000 for the operation but after negotiation agreed to conduct the operation for Rs17,000.

She said she sold her gold ornaments to collect money and Dr Saleem carried out the operation on June 21, removed a six-month-old baby from her daughter’s womb and killed him.

She said her brother, who was also present at the time of operation, sensed foul play by the doctor and reported about it to the police.

She said Dr Saleem locked Munawar and her in a room when the police visited the clinic and later released them on the police’s interference. She said the police did not take any action against the accused.

Separately, judicial magistrate Malik Saeed Ahmed directed the District Headquarters Hospital medical superintendent on Thursday to carry out a medical examination of the girl and submit a report to court.

KIDNAPPED: A woman named Pathani and her eight-year-old daughter Rabia of Chak 131/9-L have allegedly been kidnapped by Khadim Husain, Talib Husain and Baggoo. Dera Rahim police have registered a case.
