FAISALABAD, June 27: Sadar police exhumed the body of a man on Tuesday who was allegedly killed in the compound of a mosque and buried outside a girls’ seminary in Tandlianwala. A murder case was registered against the mosque imam, in charge of the seminary and three others.

Muhammad Ramzan, a driver at a rent-a-car station, went missing on May 28. The owner of the station got registered a case with the Sadar police station on June 1.

Police took Rab Nawaz into custody who confessed Ramzan had been killed 20 days ago and his body was buried outside seminary Um-i-Salma Tulbinnaat in Tandlianwala.

Police said Rab Nawaz informed them Ramzan had been killed in the mosque and buried outside the seminary.

He said prayer leader of the village mosque Abdul Ahad, prayer leader’s brothers Abdul Wahid, father Abdul Basit and Afzal were involved in the killing.

He said other accused were at large. Police have removed the body for autopsy.
