KARACHI, June 27: Though the intensity of cyclone Yemyin has weakened and it has passed Balochistan in the west north-westerly direction, the coastal areas of Sindh and Balochistan will receive moderate to heavy rains intermittently during the next 24 hours, predicted the Pakistan Meteorological Department on Wednesday.

Karachi’s chief meteorologist, Naeem Shah, told Dawn that conditions of low pressure that persisted over the Arabian Sea might cause rain along Pakistan’s coastlines, as well as in the interior of Sindh and in Karachi.

The city continued to experience scattered showers on Wednesday, with a maximum recorded temperature of 31.5 degrees centigrade, a minimum of 26.5 degrees and 79 per cent humidity.

For Thursday (today), the Met office has forecast temperatures ranging between 31 and 33 degrees centigrade.
