HARIPUR, June 27: Residents of the Mohalla Railway station, Dhok Talokar and Soka have been facing water shortage for the past four days as the only water pump in the area has gone out of order.

“We are being forced to fetch water from far-off places or purchase it on high rates,” said a resident, Tehsin Ullah. Inhabitants said their repeated complaints to the department concerned had fallen on deaf ears. They urged authorities to rectify the fault immediately and restore water supply to the localities that comprise an estimated 600 residents.
