KARACHI, June 24: The Pakistan Medical Association (PMA), Karachi, has demanded the removal of all hoardings from the city with immediate effect terming them hazardous for citizens.

In a statement issued here on Sunday, the PMA secretary-general expressed profound grief over the loss of lives due to fallen hoardings and broken electric cables during Saturday’s thunderstorm in Karachi. He said the PMA had already been asking for the removal of hoardings but a certain ‘mafia’ had resisted all government moves.

He demanded cleaning the city of all hoardings, ensuring safe power cables and the payment of compensation to the heirs of the deceased and to the injured.—PPI
