KARACHI, June 21: Syed Muhammad Iqbal Kazmi, known as a journalist and rights’ campaigner, on Thursday filed a petition in the Sindh High Court for the quashment of the FIRs lodged against him at different police stations for his involvement in the fake cheques’ cases.

Iqbal Kazmi, who filed the petitions in the SHC against the May 12 violence in Karachi and the amended Pemra Ordinance 2007, was arrested by Darakhshan police on

June 12.

Five cases were registered against him last year, containing charges of fraud, threats and cheque bouncing.—PPI
