Hai extols Aisam’s achievement

KARACHI, June 20: Former Davis Cupper and senior vice-president of the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF), Saeed Hai, has complimented tennis ace Aisamul Haq for making it to the qualifying tournament for Wimbledon.

“Aisam has reached the pinnacle of his career due to sheer hard work over the years,” he said in a statement on Wednesday.

He hoped that Aisam would finally qualify to play the main round of Wimbledon after his successive attempts remained futile in the past.

Hai, however, regretted that his (Aisam’s) continued absence from Pakistan’s Davis Cup engagements this year had dealt a severe blow to the country which was relegated to Group Three for the first time in its history.
