GUJRANWALA, June 19: The National Accountability Bureau on Tuesday banned auction of the properties of Sibtul Hassan Shah, who came to be known as Double Shah, and 32 members of his family under the NAB Ordinance.
It has informed the district administrations of Gujranwala and Sialkot to make sure the order is implemented.
Several family members of the accused have their homes and properties in Wazirabad, Sambrial (Sialkot), Shahbazpura and other places.
Those who cannot sell their properties include: accused Sibtul Hassan Shah, his son Wajid Husain and two daughters Iffat Gillani and Riffat Gillani, Shahzadi Javed, Abid Faisal, Master Pervaiz, Muhammad Latif, Fiaz Husain Shah, Ehsanullah Ranjha, Shabbir Akram Cheema, Naveed Akram Cheema, Nabeel Sheikh, Zahirul Hassan Gillani, Syed Iftikhar Haider, Syed Fiaz Husain, Haq Nawaz Ghumman, Ijaz Ahmad, Zahir Ahmad, Alamdar Husain, Asif Husain, Zawar Husain, Abuzar Husain, Syed Uzadar Husain, Munawar Husain, Muazzam Husain, Fazilat Akmal, Zulfikar, Syed Mukhtar Husain Gillani.
Meanwhile, the police submitted chargesheet against the accused in the Anti-Terrorism Court No 2. The court adjourned the case till June 26.
DBA PROTEST: The district bar association on Tuesday condemned the British government’s decision to award knighthood to Salman Rushdie, an author of a highly controversial book which the Islamic world calls blasphemous.
At a meeting on Tuesday, presided over by bar president Illyas Rehan, the lawyers demanded through a resolution that ties with the UK government should be abolished.
They also condemned the police for registering criminal cases against lawyers on the charge of staging torch-bearing rally in support of chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, boycotting courts form 9.30am to 11.30am.
