HYDERABAD, Oct 20: About 200 students of Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS) Jamshoro, here on Saturday gathered outside the administration block of Sindh University demanding re-examination in medicine paper-I of MBBS final year annual examination 2001 which they had boycotted on August 30 this year.

A delegation of ten students called on the university Registrar, Professor Ferozuddin Kazi who heard the problems of the students patiently and reportedly informed them that only the Academic Council of the University had the authority to decide the matter. He said that a notification had already been issued on October 19 for holding a special meeting of the Academic Council on October 30, to discuss only this agenda. He made it clear that the decision of the Sindh University Academic Council in this regard would be final.

He expressed the hope that the council will give a final date for re-conduct of the Medicine paper-I in the near future.
