HYDERABAD, June 14: The Hyderabad Grand Alliance has condemned the murder of Muttahida Taluba Mahaz president Wasif Aziz in Karachi and termed it target killing.

In a joint statement issued on Thursday, convener of the alliance, MPA Abdul Rehman Rajput, Abdul Waheed Qureshi and others accused the MQM of this crime. They said two days earlier, the PML-N activist Hashmat Banghash too also targeted at the same place.

They said these people were bent upon destroying the peace of Hyderabad and added that students were fired upon in Paretabad, pasting posters on walls while police was raiding their homes in Phulelli along with the MQM’s sector incharge.

Police had become puppet in MQM’s hands they said and added that people were being summoned at the sector and unit offices of MQM even on family matters. They said police was supporting what they called "Mustaqil Qaumi Museebat" (MQM).

DEMO: Meanwhile, activists of Islami Jamiat-e-Tuleba staged a protest demonstration outside the Hyderabad press club against the murder of Wasif Aziz in Karachi and firing on IJT activists in Hyderabad.

Speaking on the occasion, IJT leader Adnan Danish accused the student wing of the MQM of murder. He charged that it was a target killing and said that the alleged terrorists of MQM had fired on the homes of IJT activists and police were raiding their homes.
