Seven die of heat

SAHIWAL, June 14: Seven people died of heatstroke in the city and its adjoining areas on Thursday.

Hamidan Bibi, 60, admitted to the Medical Ward, and Ashraf, 65, of Tariq Bin Ziad Colony, who was brought to emergency, died of heat, DHQ hospital sources said.

A passenger of Shalimar Express who fainted during journey was brought to hospital but could not survive. He could not be identified.

Ghulam Rasool, 50, of Niazi Colony, Faqir Muhammad, 55, of the Jahaz Ground and

Hajran Bibi of Chak 93/6-R were brought unconscious to the hospital. Muhammad Ali Fatiana, a trader of Noorshah, fell in the bazaar and died on the spot.

Meanwhile, the traders associations and people condemned Mepco for unscheduled loadshedding. — Correspondent
