KARACHI, June 13: President of the Pakistan People’s Party, Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah has condemned the kidnapping of Tahir Mohammad Memon, son of an ex-PPP MNA and a member of its Sindh Council Babu Ghulam Husain. Tahir has been kidnapped for ransom in Thatta.

In a statement issued here on Wednesday, Mr Shah demanded him immediate recovery and slammed the government for its utter failure in checking rampant kidnappings across the province.

If any harm came to Tahir, the responsibility would rest on the government, he warned.

Another PPP leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Sindh Assembly Mr Nisar Ahmed Khuhru has, in a separate statement, condemned the rocket attack on the business establishments belonging to PPP leaders, Mohammad Parial Sanjrani and a UC Nazim Tahib Bhutto, in Shikarpur. He termed the attack ‘political victimisation’.
