KARAK, June 12: ANP provincial president Afrasiab Khattak has said that the federal government’s policies have ruined all state institutions.

Addressing an ANP workers’ convention here on Tuesday, Mr Khattak accused the government of failing to maintain law and order in Pukhtun-dominated areas. “The provincial government is equally responsible for the trouble brewing in the Pukhtun areas,” he said.

He asked the ANP workers to stick to the political philosophy of Bacha Khan and spread his message of non-violence throughout the country.

ANP provincial senior-vice president Baz Mohammad Khan, vice-president Imran Afridi and general-secretary Mian Iftikhar Hussain on the occasion said that when Gen Musharraf was himself occupying the presidency unconstitutionally, then how could he decide on the legality or otherwise of other government functionaries?

They termed the army’s involvement in the political affairs unconstitutional.
